John 5: 6-8 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” The sick man answered Him, ‘Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred. But while I am coming, another steps down before me.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk
Like the sick man in this passage for years (in his case it’s precisely 38 years) we all are locked (Up, Down, In, Out) in various problems. Also just like this dude we all are well aware of our condition, obstacles to overcome that, and also sometimes well versed with the solution. And for most of us who believe in prayer and supernatural intervention, we think we know everything like when to pray, how to pray, why should we pray and so on.
But if this know-it-all mindset is keeping us locked, or we are stuck in the same addictions, toxic relations, mental or emotional burdens. It’s high time that we recognize it and get out of this lockdown situation immediately.
“Do you want to get well?” Perhaps Jesus was doing a thought diagnosis,
And that’s what we need to do now:
This first step is self-reflection which is like an honest inventory check of the person you are right now.
Ask yourself this: Do I really want to be well? Has this condition been hanging around for months, or even decades like a familiar cloak? Is there some reason that I am resisting becoming well?
And when we have the answer as Yes, Let’s turn to the ultimate physician and counsellor, with our lives!
Jesus said to him, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk.’
Rise: Rise and show up in life for the spirit God gave us does not make us timid but gives us power, love and self-discipline. When we willingly kneel before the light of life, we are no more slaves to darkness.
Rom 6: 3-5 As Christ was brought back from death to life by the glorious power of the Father, so we, too, should live a new kind of life. If we’ve become united with him in a death like his, certainly we will also be united with him when we come back to life as he did. We know that the person we used to be was crucified with him to put an end to sin in our bodies. Because of this, we are no longer slaves to sin.
Take up your bed: Come out of your comfort zone, Get rid of habits and attitudes that are self-serving and is out of alignment with the will and plan of God
Proverbs 3: 5, 6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight
Walk: Lastly a walk with the Heavenly Father, moving alongside in unity and faith as you pass through your life’s journey.
Deuteronomy 5:33 – Walk in obedience to all that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
May the Almighty continue to bless you and protect you forever!
I urge you to think about areas or issues of your life that are still not well. Ask the Lord to give you new revelation about what’s holding you back, and then surrender it completely, asking Him to touch you with His truth and heal you!
Stay Locked in your home, not in your mind!:)
Stay Home, Stay Safe!
