Those were the best days of my life!

Mark 1: 35 – Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.

As we read the gospel accounts, we learn about His intimacy with His heavenly Father. During my childhood, every day after school, I would be all excited to tell my mom everything that happened on that particular day. Each and every detail and sometimes  I used to enact some scenes. It was with her that I realized the importance of holding the listener’s attention. She listened to me with full excitement, her galore of expression, innocent laughter, cute comments on others all were mesmerizing. I think she used to watch me as a TV series, kept track of my stories and ask me for updates on the unfinished ones.

Those were the best days of my life!

No tension, always felt light, proud of myself, because someone was there to listen to me, without judging, without comparing, my own private audience for whom I was the most and the only important character.

Though,  she still shows the same excitement, If I take out time and talk to her. I feel I should call and talk to her more often!

I am yearning to have a relationship like this with my heavenly father also. I realized just my flash prayer, family prayer or quiet time was not fulfilling that motive, so I have decided to sit and tell him everything I do in a day, my thoughts, desires, and my emotions good or bad.

I started it yesterday. I went on like

“God, you know – I started my day quite late and feeling really lethargic, you know na,  I am not a morning kinda person! So, by the way, can you please help me to wake up early morning?  (2 seconds: Silence) hmm…., Ok I will try to do that myself and I went on and on and on!”

“What greater way could you glorify God in your life than by simply enjoying Him?” teacher and author S.J. Hill ask. “It’s simple, but it’s radical. Some may even call it revolutionary. Yet, I believe this is the heartbeat of Christianity. It’s all about relationship with our heavenly Father, the true Lover of our hearts.”

I promise if I come across anything exciting during our conversation I will surely make a point of it to share with you all.

Ok, now you people go and talk to your Mom Dad and spend some time with them!

Happy Days Ahead!
